Mesopotamia’s most common public work were and still are the canals and dikes. Since Mesopotamia was between two rivers, it would have probably been smart to take advantage of them. By bringing water to the center of the city using canals and dikes. Another smart way the Mesopotamians used public works was by building massive walls around the city to protect it from invaders. These massive walls helped the army grow stronger by keeping them in constant training instead of sitting around the city waiting for an attack. A ware house was built to store food and sources until they were really needed. This was and still is a great way to store food for war time that way you don’t run out as quick as you will if you were in a hurry. One of the MOST important public works is the Ziggurat which was a hold place for people to go and worship there. This is great because that way the city has a place for the people to come in and become “united” I guess. Last but not the least are the roads. Which Mesopotamians used move on. The roads were flat and wide which made it easier for a lot of people to travel at once.
